Pronounciations
Vlad, I know we talked about this before, but since people really do seam to get pronunciation of some of these places and people mixed up (Wallachia, Brasov, Chindiei, Tirgoviste etc.), I was thinking that next time we talk, we can go over a list and I can when I get my own computer back online, make some audio feeds and upload them so people can hear for themselves how they are pronounced (Romanian and English translation. I don't know how to correctly relate the Romanian pronunciation in typed words for instance since it involves some dialect that doesn't exist in the English alphabet therefore ideal to present in audio format.
R u trying to...
Teach ROMANIAN to people who don't have any idea where Romania is.?
If so, you'd be better off starting with Geography first, then History, just to see if the interest is there.
Late Ceausescu tried to do that. He actually put Romania on the MAP.
Western EU..is still debating whether or not Romania belongs to EUROPE.....(IDIOTS and SHREWED as they are and always have been and always will be).

Romania = Roman Empire
Romania earned her DUES. Struggled through the centuries. Has always been there for the last 2000 years and beyond.
PERIOD.
Those unwilling to face this reality and acknowledge Romania's contribution to the civilized Europe and therefore late comer America, are nothing but douche bags.
START by reading a very well documented WEB site such as this:
http://www.friesian.com/romania.htm#second
Other than that, EU can all go to hell, since it did not give a damn about ROMANIA, when she needed help. On the contrary, left ROMANIA on communist hands for 50 years.
EU: Think this will ever be forgotten???

I know what you mean and how you feel. It's the story of my life. As I have pointed out, part of the purpose for that book is to get peoples attention on the matter. I don't know about Europe, but here in the US, people are just clueless. It's a shock that such a major piece of history is just sitting their un-noticed, with all the strain for new media ideas going on right now. I myself had no idea until the last few years that Romania played such a major and important role in shaping the world today.
I think part of the problem however is that people seam to be banking on this "real Dracula" theme without going any further rather then additionally using it as door to revealing all of the truly important and interesting stuff to the rest of the world.
