Back in 1977, when we first reached the land of the rich, in Hollywood, California.
A lot of Romanians, a lot of Romanian shops and restaurants.
Also a lot of Greek, Serbian, Hungarian and Armenian shops and restaurants. Very few Russians.
We remember "Athenian Gardens" restaurant on Cahuenga...Greek and Mid Eastern food and entertainment, great belly dancing.
We remember "Mignon" restaurant on Vine and Fountain...Romanian food and entertainment.
Nowadays, Romanians are a minority, struggling to exist and be acknowledged by the powers that be, in the middle of a constantly changing Hollywood.
Where did all the Romanians, Greeks, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Serbians go??
If interested in this story, let us know.
More to follow....
