American French Connection:

Post by Vlad »

I was once told that the French people have that "Je ne sais quoi" which allows them to distinguish between Americans with that "joie de vivre" and American illiterates who use French borrowed words like "deja vu" - pronounced "deja voo all over again"[sic], in order to show off their geographic and linguistic sophistication.
However, from a "sophisticated" and "snobbish" American movie stars' point of view, this is a "faux pas".
Not only that, but expressions such as: "Tres awesome", "Tres taboo" and "Tres out of sight" have become the laughingstock/talk of the town (Hollywood, that is), especially after George Carlin left us.

As the French say: "À bon entendeur, salut."

Any comments?
