How many Armenians
Did the TURKS kill???
Answer that, ATATURK.
The Turks killed Armenians because they let YOU.
Vlad TEPES would have impaled as many of you -and MORE as you dared to kill his army.
Give the man what's his.
Does the term "ghiaur" ring a bell??

Balkan countries
Against Turkey.
Do you really think, Turkey is loved by Balkan countries??
Do you really think that if ANY Balkan country, including Greece, were to be agressed by Turkey, Turkey would stand a chance??
Most of the Balkan countries are Christian, by the way.
Think Serbians will forget the Kookoo's Nest Kosovo??
Think Bulgarians will forget the Ottoman domination?
Think Romanians will put up with MINARETS on their territory?
THINK again, arkadash.
Not to mention, your ancestorial blood line: Hungarians/Magyars. They hate your guts. They always did.
You don't stand a chance in HELL. 1000 Virgins and all.

You should learn how to debate as a civilized human (although i dont think it is a debate subject. )
I have dozens of proofs (documents,pıctures) on my archieve shows Armenian terrorists named ASALA killed thousands of Turks in Turkiye and USA (Kılled ones in USA were diplomats).ANYWAY that is not related with my question..and if you strived to mean something by telling ''ghiaur'' (if you think it is in Turkish) ,i will say right now it has no meaning in my language

the Giaour
the Giaour:
Giaour
Giaour, written gavur in modern Turkish, is a word used by Turkish people to describe all who are non Muslims, with particular reference to Christians.
The word is a Turkish adaptation of the Persian gdwr or gbr, an infidel. The term was first employed as a term of contempt and reproach, but has become so general that in most cases no insult is intended in its use. A similar fate happened to the Arabic equivalent kaffir, or unbeliever, which was so widespread that it became the proper name of various peoples and countries (see Kaffir).
You are starting to INSULT me, and my web site's visitors' intelligence.
Please back off, "PAGAN".

Welcome back
OK, Turk.
So, how can one find out what happened to the body,
unless they use huge resources and pay hundreds of people to do a decent, archeological research?
Any suggestions?

I really wish Turk would come back. If I recall correctly, someone on the board spooked him. He sounds like an interesting fellow. It seams like he would be a very good source for exchanging info. Then again, these old feudes and cultural clashes mean nothing to me.
Istanbul, like he said, is an archiologists nightmaer. Any archiological digs have to be done very carefully and well planned to not disturb the city that rests on it. Because Istanbul is more or less an archiologists Disney Land under a city (the under the city part is what makes it a nightmaer), the city has frustrating toils with Archiologists and it appears they have developed a "get out of my face" overall attitude towards archiologists who won't leave them alone.

BTW. Vladislav III's civilian kill rate was not very high at all compared to his military kill rate. There were only a handfull of iscolated incidences when he killed large nombers of civilions. The rest of the time, it was just something that happened now and then. Vladislav III is recorded as having killed between 200,000 and 300,000 people in his lifetime. They say it's an exaduration givin the local polulation but with his military actions included, the numbers seam to add up. Though that's allot of kills, it wasn't an unusually high volume for the time and place. Janos Hunyadi killed over 60,000 people in a single ingagment.
I would have to actually sit down and do the math, but I am pretty sure that in military affairs alone, Vladislav III killed over 200,000 people just in the year of 1462.
He still ran allot of civil military campaigns (mainly the one against Daniel III which account for the majority of his famed attrocities) and part of the reason the Turks gained so much support from the Wallachs' in dethroning him is because the death toll and losses from his civil and foreign campaigns was so high that there was a noticable decline in the Wallach population by the end of 1462. Of course, this is not unusual in war time. Even the massive United States experienced the same thing by the end of WW II.

vlad, it's of course too much difficult for one to find out any historical ruins without monetary and psychological support.. but there are tens of Turks i know are very ambitious to make their dreams come true..an effort.. a hope.. it's enough for us, but if we reach a clue, footprint while researching that makes our egos higher..
sis kebap (it's called like this in Turkish, but s has points below) thanks for detailed information.. i think we cant get so much reliable results of deads from his term ruling.. just like i cant find more photos or portraits of him, sadly

Shish-kabob is a Hawaiian food. It was originally made by finding small sea creatures near shore (crabs, clams etc.), putting them on a stick and roasting them over a camp fire as a convenient method of cooking a meal.
My user name is sort of a cruel humor, refering to the forest of the impaled with the people being mounted on sticks like shish-kabobs.
There is one really good painting of Vladislav III in existence. Vladislav III personally posed for it and it was done in grave detail and it is life size. It is in excellent condition and on display at a museum in Romania. It's so well done that some say that you feel like you are standing in the room with Vladislav III himself when you look at it. Unfortunately, I have only heard of it through perfectly reliable sources. I have never seen pictures of it. I even question if it's owner/s have a "no photograph" policy on it to encourage tourism. Being that you live in Istanbul, I am sure you are well aware of how good artisans of old were at depicting people down to there very facial expressions. There is a picture, what looks like a mosaic (in Istanbul if I remember correctly) of Constantine I that is so well done that you can see the mans overall personality in his facial expression and posture.
I have learned that carefully studying and trusting these ancient pictures reveals everything you could ever hope for about these civilizations and the people in them. 15th century Wallachia is no exception nor is Vladislav III. Vladislav III. Actually, Vladislav III is easy to imagine because my father has a very similar personality to what is described of Vladislav III. An unstable but predictable mixture of humility and arrogance, kindness and cruelty love for God acted out with cruel means of strictly enforcing principals upon others etc. Heck, I have pictures of my father that show the exact same facial expression and all. I DO think Vladislav III had a bit of a "Punisher, Dirty Harry" side that my father lacks.
Only one picture of him online that I know of. It's not a good comparison but you can still see the similarity in personality features if you know what to look for. Have a look:
