EUROVISION
I visited that site and since I couldn't understand a single word, my eyes focused at the Eurovision song contest.
I think that we should be refering to that contest as the intergalactic contest, where everyone sings english-mainstream songs and craves for the first (personal opportunity for personal career) position, by the -very healthy and fine- means of vanishing their opponents.
It doesn't matter which country one is representing, the song is most likely in english and the melody either a balland or a "safe" house. It's pathetic. Personally I despise our choice of the singer, mrs Vissi. She's a good artist when she sings the right songs (bouzouki) and has a long and cherished career here in Greece. But not the Eurovision, too! Where are the new talents? Why don't give new artists a chance? And where on earth is the greek element in the song???
Of course, most of the countries that are taking part have sent an english song, when they should be promoting their ethnic rythms. I loved that skandinavian (don't remember which exactly) country, who has sent a pure metal song. It was about time. Dark metal was born in the skandinavian ground and the people there should be proud of perfectly mingling the darkness with great melodies.
Other than that, the Eurovision song contest remains the same, unfortunately going to worse. Western Europe just loves to wear America's clothes and hopes to become identical with her overseas "friend".
Give me a break.....
