It&#8217;s an interesting sentiment. In contrast to benediction epitaphs such as requiescat in pace, this is more of a warning to the living. Everyone dies, so live well while you can.<\/p>\n<p>This phrase is also seen in Victorian literature, sometimes abbreviated to &#8220;cras tibi&#8221;.
