Early life and education<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Boasberg was born in San Francisco<\/a>, California<\/a>, in 1963, to parents Sarah Margaret (n\u00e9e<\/a> Szold) and Emanuel Boasberg III.[3]<\/a><\/sup>[4]<\/a><\/sup> Boasberg is Jewish.[5]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family moved to Washington, D.C.<\/a> when Boasberg’s father accepted a position in Sargent Shriver<\/a>‘s Office of Economic Opportunity<\/a>, a “Great Society<\/a>” agency responsible for implementing and administering many of Lyndon B. Johnson<\/a>‘s War on Poverty<\/a> programs.[6]<\/a><\/sup>[7]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boasberg graduated in 1981 from St. Albans School<\/a> in Washington, D.C.[8]<\/a><\/sup> He then attended Yale University<\/a>, where he was a member of the undergraduate society Skull and Bones<\/a><\/mark>[9]<\/a><\/sup> and, at 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) tall, played forward<\/a> for the Yale Bulldogs men’s basketball<\/a> team.[10]<\/a><\/sup> He graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts<\/a> degree, magna cum laude<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
