In between Greece and India/China, there is a country called ROMANIA.
Have you ever tried to understand the Romanian spirit/soul?
Before jumping into far EAST?
May God help you, YANNI.
This time you are on your own. No more Linda E.
You can fool a lot of people many a time, but you cannot fool all the people, all the time.
An old Romanian saying (probably derived from old Greek), says that "the amphora/bucket does not last too many trips to the river".
Pe Romaneste: "Ulciorul nu merge de multe ori la apa"
Deal with it.
To Yanni, wherever he may be

Don't know much about him personally but never cared for his music. Supposedly new age but sounds more to me like elevator music.
OTOH, give this guy a try:

Pride is the root of all evil. Nothing good ever comes from it.
Elevator music :-)
Noo..it's more than elevator music, it's new age- classical fusion.Shish-kabob-Forrest wrote:Don't know much about him personally but never cared for his music. Supposedly new age but sounds more to me like elevator music.
What's interesting is that he went for the most famous landmarks on this planet, such as Acropolis in 1994 and Taj MAHAL and The Forbidden City in Beijing, China, 1997.
I have seen Acropolis and the Forbidden City, not the Taj MAHAL.
In the process, he skipped some other decent places, in Eastern Europe, with which he should have had close ties, etc. Places like Budapest, Prague, Krakow, Bucharest, even Bran.
How about St. Petersburg and Moscow ?
People in that part of the world are also eager to listen and enjoy Linda Evans produced concerts such as those above. ( )
Oh well...
A little known piece of trivia
Yanni does not use regular/standard/classical notes/solfege, such as Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do.
He has his own markings, which someone, or some others translate into regular/conventional notes.
I wonder how much is he paying them. Wouldn't it be cheaper to learn the ABCD of Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do ??
